I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
